We’re extremely proud of our members. Over the years their work out agendas and sporting endeavors serve as healthy examples of how it feels to be “Elite,” and how exercise not only adds years to your life, but life to your years! Today we’d like to highlight another member’s experience:
Frank Sinatra once told us in a song that he was enjoying the simple pleasures that came with the prime of his life. As I approach my prime number of 76, I find that to enjoy these simple pleasures, it takes my team at Elite and the equipment that comes with them-the pool, the sauna, the weights and exercise ball!
My team consists of my trainer, Bernie, without whom I can not function-my physical therapist Kristen who constantly amazes me with her skill and creativity, and finally, Jen, my newly added Pilates instructor who is teaching me the correct way to walk, sit and stand. (Talk about teaching an old dog new tricks!) Little did I know that I did not stand, sit or walk correctly and that would result in my back, leg, and foot pain.
As I am an artist who paints LARGE abstract paintings, I need to be able to move, haul, set-up and stand on my feet all day. The occasional art fair is no picnic! Without my Elite team, I could not do that. I thank them for keeping me going.
I also thank the people at the front desk who cheer me on the minute I come through the door. It would be so much easier to sit in the car and listen to the radio! But, I know I need to keep painting- and to do so, I need to keep my body moving- and to do so, I need my team at Elite!
Now, if only I could get them to help at an art fair! 76 is looking good!
