Locally owned Elite Sports Clubs is excited to announce that it has named Michael Dierberger as the Tennis Director for the Brookfield location at 13825 W. Burleigh Road, Brookfield, WI. Elite has the largest tennis program in the state and Wisconsin’s largest junior program. With 40 courts between the five area clubs, they were the first to use indirect lighting and implement the 10 and under QuickStart youth tennis program. Here’s a simple contact point tennis drill you can do with your child. The drill consists of 3 steps that progress as your child masters the fundamental movements.
There are two key things you and your child need to understand when it comes to the contact point. First is the body position; you want your child to be sideways. So, often you will find that tennis pros and coaches will use a target positioned perpendicular to the net to help the kids understand that they should be facing sideways the whole time. The bounce catch tennis drill consists of three specific steps. Kids learn coordination by bouncing and catching the ball with their hand, a cone, and their racquet. Elite Sports Club – Brookfield announced that it has hired two new tennis pros – Saulo Gonzales, who was born in Venezuela and Guy David, born in Australia. Both pros are under the direction of Elite Sports Club – Brookfield Tennis Director, Aniela Neuberger, who, also, has an international background. She is from South Africa and was a three-time All-American, singles and doubles player for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Neuberger also is a multi-national champion in all age groups and was the Assistant Coach for Marquette University’s Women’s Tennis team. Elite Sports Clubs member first student athlete in Wisconsin recruited to Columbia University’s Women’s Tennis Team
Alexandra (Ali) Pollack, a senior at University School of Milwaukee and a member at Elite Sports Clubs, has committed to play collegiate tennis at Columbia University and is the first student athlete in Wisconsin to ever be recruited to play for Columbia’s tennis team, an NCAA Division One Program in the Ivy League Conference. Elite Sports Clubs has offered the state’s largest tennis program for the last 30 years with year-round beginner to advanced programs for adults and children. At present, Elite coaches train over 35 nationally ranked junior players as well as 145 ranked players in the Midwest.
